Almost the same.: Conjunctivitis describes inflammation of the clear covering over the white part of the eye. Allergic is one of the many causes and hay fever is a subtype of allergic conjunctivitis.

Location: Hay fever tends to describe the allergic rhinitis or runny nose that seasonal allergy sufferers have. The term describes itchiness and general discomfort, including stuffy nose and bloodshot eyes. Conjunctivitis specifically means inflammation or irritation of the outer skin layer of the white of the eye. You can have hay fever without conjunctivitis.
