What are the chances my daughter will have bipolar?

Most likely not!: A child with a parent with bipolar illness is 4-6x more likely to develop bipolar disorder. However, as only 1-3% of the population have bipolar i, the there is 82-96% likelihood your child will not develop bipolar i.

From 2003 study:: 1parent bipolar 1 not: 15-30%; 2 parents 50-75%; 1 child with, 2nd child 15-25%; 1 id twin with, 2nd id twin 85%. But figres like this do not take into account the cross inheritance of other mood disorders and rarely discriminate fully between bpd i and ii.
