Go to a podiatrist: A podiatrist can take x-rays if indicated and treat you with a variety of modalities based on the findings of the history of the injury and physical exam. Sometimes there can be damage to areas away from the ankle that a podiatrist will know to look.

Podiatrist: Since a podiatrist is a foot and ankle specialist, trained in medicine and surgery of the foot and ankle, that would be the right specialist to see.

Foot Pain: For any foot pain go to your podiatrist-we are well trained in foot pathology and diseases of the foot and ankle. Cuboid pain can occur from a simple twisting of the foot and it is treatable! begin with rice therapy-rest, ice, compression and elevation.

Sports med/Ortho : A sports medicine/orthopedic physician would be well-suited to care for your condition. A few insurance carriers require a referral to a specialist, but in my area, most patients can self-refer themselves to a sports med doctor. There is nothing wrong with seeing your primary care physician first, but if he/she does not care for foot & ankle issues consistently, then this may waste your time & $.

Podiatrist: You should see your podiatrist for evaluation. If you saw your general doctor he would probable refer you to see your podiatrist.

Cuboid: This is the day and age of specialists. The best one to see for a foot problem is a podiatrist. The sooner you see one the sooner you get better. Best of luck.
