A member asked:

I have a 2 week old baby he is formula fed and he hasn't had a bowl movement in 24 hours should i be worried and can i do anything to help him

Not necessarily: Formula fed kids will usually get into a daily stooling pattern by 2 wks. Unless they are putting out rabbit pellets or harder stools i don't worry if they skip a day. Most infants will bring arms in & legs up & fuss with their diaphragm. They all look like they have a tummy ache. This is not necessarily the case. You can bring out a stool sometimes by stimulating the bottom with a vasaline q-tip.
