Vascular disease: The clogging plaque can be removed or bypassed at surgery or with a stent or balloon placed angiographically. Then managing hypertension, nicotine, lipids, and diabetes will help stabilize the plaque long term. It takes a team approach. Anti platelet therapy is a baby Aspirin daily. Nicotine cessation is very important.
