What illness besides ms include monocular visual loss as a symptom?

Quite a few..: Depends if the onset is slow or rapid. Here is a partial list: glaucoma, anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, giant cell arteritis, optic neuritis, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, amaurosis fugax, papilledema, etc. This is a serious symptom which should be address by your ophthalmologist quickly.

Many: Anything affecting the tear film, corneal, lens, retina, anterior and posterior chambers, brain in one eye.

Here's a list: Compressive tumors of optic nerve, lupus, Sjogren's, sarcoidosis, neuromyelitis optica, syphilis and HIV, drugs for tuberculosis, Leber's, CMT2, copper and B-12 deficiencies.
