A member asked:

I took my dog to the vet and he was positive for hookworms. my bowel movements have been strange and they seem to have white-ish sesame seed like things all in it. if i had hookworms, wouldn't i find worms in stool?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: If one has hookworm infestation, the worm is generally not seen in the stool but hookworm eggs are. Dog hookworm can cause rashes in people related to the larval form (cutaneous larva migrans) but not mature to its adult form.
