Lymph nodes: Most likely they are enlarged lymph nodes. Lymph nodes enlarge when they respond to infections. It is worth getting them checked out to make sure this is the case and that all is ok.

Lymphmnodes: Do you have any soresby scrating frequently-lice /dandruf/ring worm-fungal infection, psoriasis . The occipital lymphnodes could have been enlarged in above conditions . Also based on the age, how long you have, any h/o std's like syphylis, HIV can cause it, better to have them examined by your primary doctor atleast once.
