Vision correction: Amblyopia can be reduced with glasses if one eye is weak and needs a stronger prescription to make the eyes equal. Recovery is better the younger the age. Patching or Atropine can also be used to strengthen the weaker eye by forcing the brain to use it.

Depends: For a young person, the first step is to have a complete eye exam with dilation and refraction. The refraction provides insight into the possible cause of the amblyopia. For example, in some people, one eye has a much stronger glasses prescription than the other eye. Only then can the correct lenses be prescribed.

None: An amblyopic eye is one in which the brain ignores its signal and the vision is diminished. No optical correction will change this because it is due to an alteration of the signals within the brain. So glasses or contacts are of no benefit.
