A member asked:

How much and how often should i use oxygen if i have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: This really depends on your oxygen level based on a pulse oximeter. A pulse oximeter is a light based device that measures the amount of oxygen content in blood. Ideally pulmonary fibrosis patients should have oxygen saturations levels above 90%. Typically one uses enough oxygen to raise the saturation above this threshold (ie 2 liters, 6 liters, etc).
