How many untreated cases of otitis media in childhood lead to deafness?

Not much!: With today's antibiotics and early interventions ... It is highly rare to have full blown deafness! decrease in hearing thresholds probably after numerous, repeated bad otitis... We are more worried for the serious complications, sinusitis, meningitis , cholesteatoma and more ! i would not let ear infections go untreated but it won't make you deaf automatically ! good luck!
