Could burning incense cause you to wheeze when you breathe?

Yes: Consider the odor you smell when the incense is burning a signal that something is getting into your nose & likely your lungs in the process. Some smells, perfumes, vapors, etc will trigger a natural protective mechanism in the lung. This process narrows the airways to prevent the vapor (or toxic agent) from getting to sensitive lung tissues. If you wheeze with incense, avoid it before u end up in er.

Yes: Incense can be a strong irritant and bring on wheezing, especially if you have asthma or other respiratory disorders.
