Few possibilities: Fever from causes like infections causes encephalopathy- toxic to brain from the infecting organisms like bacteria, viral (proteins), fungus crossing the blood brain barrier -a defense, down by fever. Also fluid and electrolyte changes in the body cause swelling of brain called odema. Eg: are the infectious &noninfec. Like drug fever, heat stroke.Local invasion of brain by infec.
