Medical reason for ?: Not really , but people who has experienced or witnessed a trauma may have night mares , flashback , avoidance and hyperarousal

Sleep: See a psychiatrist for an evaluation. Some sleep disorders can underlie the problem of nightmares but better to start with an evaluation for the more common reason of a response to trauma.
