Chronic Sinusitis: If your nose is chronically stuffy, perhaps you could take a decongestant to clear your nose. If you have an active upper respiratory infection and the surgery can be put off, put it off.

No: The presence of an upper respiratory tract infection is only a concern with small children. This is because we worry about reactive airway disease in such small children after an anesthetic. The only time we would worry about an adult would be with evidence of a significant ongoing infection that could compromise your recovery. A stuffy nose, especially in spring, is not a concern.
