What was done: To treat the gout. Were you given a prescription for medication or an injection. You should discuss this with your doctor. Ice may be helpful. Avoiding food that can cause a flare up such as shellfish, peanuts, sardines, beer or wine is also a good idea.

Steroids: Gout can be treated in many different ways, but the fastest way to decrease swelling is a steroid injection.

Why didn't the doc: Who made the diagnosis give you anything? Take a hot bath, and eat bing cherries or drink cherry juice, you can also take antiinflammatories such as allve or motrin.
