How long ago: Call the doc who did the injection if it was done recently. If it has been a few weeks the effects may be wearing off and a repeat injection may help.

Talk to your doctor: How recent was the epidural injection? If very recent, then typically it can be okay to experience increased pain after the numbing medication wears off, since remember you had a needle go through muscles in your neck in order to reach the epidural space. So it can at times result in temporary increased pain. But you have to call and notify the doctor who did the injection so you can be evaluated.

Repeat Injection: Epidural injections have a variable relief pattern and it really depends on the steroid used and location of pathology. Typically epidural injections work best if placed next to or on top of the level of pathology. Sometimes these injections need to be repeated for sustained relief. Epidural injections if they work can provide from weeks to months of relief. Speak with your doctor re: options.
