FDA APPROVAL IS $$$$: Fda approval of any product is very costly. In the case of breast implants the highly controversial process makes this even more difficult. Other than the longstanding manufacturers mentor (a johnson & johnson subsidiary) and allergan, the only other manufacturer is sientra, a new company to the usa market manufactured in brazil.
