Needs Investigation: She needs to be investigated with blood tests like hemoglobin electrophoresis and CBC to find the cause she may have a variant of hemoglobinopathy or a variant of thalasemia syndrome or another variety if she always had low hemoglobin but other causes may also need to be ruled out if tests come back normalthe list is rather long to mention here.

Agree with Dr. K: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context. Having said that, she may have a genetic condition that keeps her hemoglobin low. It would be prudent to consult a doctor.
