A member asked:

What are the newest treatments for intermediate to high risk mds for a 70 years old man. he has rcmd. no blasts. low hemoglobin & platelets?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Supportive care : Not sure about newest TX, but "Supportive care may be the most appropriate TX for older people...this group of people being unable to tolerate the stronger TX used for MDS. Supportive care does not aim to treat the disease but can help alleviate symptoms such as shortness of breath...bruising or bleeding."
