A member asked:

If a rhogam shot only stays in your system 12 weeks how does it help future pregnancies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rhogam: When a mother with rh- blood has a baby with rh+ blood, the immune system of the mother will make antibodies against the baby red cell at delivery and will stay in the mother's blood and if another baby of rh+ is conceived this baby will be attacked in utero, Rhogam prevent the mother from making antibody angainst the bady, s blood thus prevent attack to the next rh+ baby.
