Check lung status: Pulm function tests or pft check different sections of ones lungs. Part of it checks the resistance to the flow of air in and out of the airways (like a tunnel) called spirometry. Part of it measures the volume of air the lungs can hold and the last one finds the diffusion of the air from the lungs to the blood.
