My mom has fracture of the spine c5 and wearing a flexible collar. she complains about neck pain and dizzy spells . what to do?

See her doctor now: The neck pain is expected from fracture in this region. I would assume this is stable fracture if she was given flexible collar. The concern is that dizzy spells could cause her to fall possibly causing another injury or further injuring this level. The pain or the pain medication may be the cause or maybe this is the reason she sustained the fracture in the first place & that needs evaluation.

Call her doctor now: Assuming the fracture was due to an injury, the forces involved may have caused more than a C5 injury. Injury to the upper cervical spine, the spinal cord and the brainstem as well as other etiologies should be evaluated for. Contact her doctor asap.
