Not a great idea.: As a ring doc for both professional and amateur mma events, i wouldn't recommend it. Mma is very hard on the back. Not only do you have to worry about getting thrown on your back, but the ground game can cause your back to get twisted in ways they were never meant to. Also if you are trying to "take down" your opponent you need a strong back. Boxing or karate would be a better choice for you.
