Second opinion: I do not do this type of surgery but, if you are not comfortable with the answer, see another pediatric neurosurgeon at a children's hospital.

Description of probl: The "bottom" part of the brainstem leaks back into the spinal cord from the skull. This may pressure the brainstem causing damage.Surgery can fix this. The description refers to how much of the brain is misplaced and at risk.
