Plan ahead...: The most important thing to prevent these issues is two fold - it is important to be well hydrated (maybe even with electrolytes if you sweat a lot) as well as it is better to start low and work up on weight and repetition. It is better to lift a smaller weight and do more often rather than jumping to a high weight.
