History of tonsillitis but now tonsils are not swollen, no pain, but have white hard nodules appear every so often. is it okay to pluck it out at home?

It is ok: These hard white "pebbles" are breakdown of bacteria trapped in the tonsils, and are called "tonsilliths". They are not worrisome. You can use a water pik to squirt them away, or a q-tip to get them out.
