Not usually: There are many possible causes of rv dilatation, including lung disease, pulm hypertension, sleep apnea and tricuspid regurgitation (leaky valve). Depending on the cause most people will live normally. The rv can be hard to judge on echocardiogram, and sometimes an rv might seem dilated due to technical artifact but actually be normal.
