Pyridium (phenazopyridine) caused my pupils to dilate and have similar effect to cocain when i took it. heart was racing, aggitated, unable to sit still. norm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unusual reaction to: the pyridium, (phenazopyridine) very usual effect of cocaine. Idiosyncratic reactions, which means reactions specific to one individual, can occur with essentially any medication and can be highly unusual. Pyridium (phenazopyridine) is rarely, if ever, an absolutely necessary drug. If you have recurrent UTI's, the use of proper antibiotics will reduce and stop the pain within 24-48 hours without Pyridium (phenazopyridine).
