Im taking 50 mg of fluoxetine.my doctor increased the dosage from 30 mg daily to 40 mg..a few days later my ears started ringing..then 50 mg.any idea?

Tinnitus: Could be related to the Prozac (fluoxetine) increase. If it is related it can also be dose related. While it could go away once your body adjusts to the new dose, it may continue. Have you spoken to your physician regarding the complaint? If it is bothering you i would let s/he know.

Tinnitus: Agree with Dr. Reynolds. Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) may occur in 1% to 10% of people taking fluoxetine. Hopefully this will resolve as you adjust to the increased doses.
