Rapid pulse: Sinus tachycardia is a term used to describe a heart rate that is faster than expected for age but controlled by the normal rate setting center in the sinus node. For a 13yo the term could apply to any rate over 100 & be caused by many things as simple as stress.

Sinus tachycardia: A heart rate over 100 in a 13 y/o at rest would be inappropriate sinus tachycardia. With strenuous exercise it could reach 200 at times.
