Fibroadenoma-benign: A fibroadenoma is a benign, common mass seen in the breast. For a diagnosis, a core needle biopsy is performed in an office setting with local anesthesia. We know that these lesions do not turn into cancer. Once a biopsy is done you have options: monitor the area with imaging or have it surgically removed.
