How long does it take to get off of 150mg of venlafaxine?

4 weeks: I like to do it gradually in order not to get discontinuation syndrome , i tapper velalafaxine by 37, 5 mg weekly ...!that way it take by me 4 weeks.

Great Range: I had one patient who, on her own, abruptly stopped 225 mg a day with no adverse effects. For others it may take weeks. A cautious schedule would be to go down by 37.5 mg per day every 4 - 7 days. So 112.5 mg for 4 - 7 days. 75 mg per day for 4 - 7 days and 37.5 mg per day for 4 - 7 days. There are some tricks if the last dose reduction is too big a drop (switch to prozac, (fluoxetine) etc.)...
