Hi i have mild uc-only symptoms some blood and mucus in stool. i feel fine but was prescribed mesavant xl-can it ruin my kidneys or should i take it?

Don't ignore it!: If you are having blood and mucus in your stool, your colon is quite unhappy. Mesavant most likely won't hurt your kidneys and will help turn off the inflammation in your gut. Talk to your doc about it more but also consider your stress, your diet and possible infection as other things that could cause these symptoms.
