Pain generator: The bulging discs may not necessariliy be the cause of your symptoms, and best to reassess what might be occurring here. A good osteopathic physician, skilled at omt, might help both diagnostically and therapeutically. Consider facet impingement, sacro-iliac dysfnctn, and even strain/sprain issues.

Depends on what else: You have done to date and what your symptoms are. Medication, guided exercise/ physical therapy, activity modification and lifestyle changes where needed like smoking cessation and weight control play a role as does just time to heal. If your pain is predominantly in back, injection unlikely to benefit. See a spine specialist for an opinion as to your diagnosis and treatment options.
