Avoid grapefruit: One may take tacrolimus with food. Keep the "type and amount" of food the same. Changes in the diet may change how tacrolimus is absorbed into the body, thus altering the level. Take the same type of drink, such as apple juice, with each dose of tacrolimus. Avoid grapefruit, pomelos or tangelos or their juices while on tacrolimus because they affect how the body handles tacrolimus. Grapes are ok.
