Significantly!: A bmi of 17.5 is very low and can be associated with many serious health risks. Weights this low and unhealthy are usually the result of psychiatric disorders such as anorexia or bulimia, malnutrition or the result of chronic medical conditions or side effects of treatment for example chemotherapy used to treat cancer. If your bmi is 17.5 you should seek appropriate medical care immediately!
