Other Options: If the arthritis of your knee joint is very severe with "bone on bone" picture, surgery maybe the only option. If not severe, there are options you may want to discuss with your orthopedic surgeon. Many of my patients who received a knee replacement, they felt much better afterwards and became more functional. Good luck.

Need more informatio: Knee pain can be so many things so it helps to have more information to provide you with recommendations. But, since its been 5 years, it may be osteoarthritis, but you should see an orthopedic surgeon and get a good exam and x-rays to help get a diagnosis.
