Idc: Stage 3 is not a very early stage, with significant involvement of the lymph nodes plus the size of the cancer. Depending on the biology of the cancer, a very agressive ca can grow very fast within short period of time. Also, mammo is not a perfect test. Its sensitivity and specificity are even lower when used in a dense breast.Combination of those two can explain a case like your mom, s.
