Allergies: Most likely allergies depending on where you live. Could also be reflux acid from your stomach coming up into your airway while you sleep.

Lots of reasons . . : Ticklish cough could be due to allergies (post-nasal drip), reflux (bad heartburn), even asthma. Obviously we think of infections too. But if it's only in the morning accompanied by stuffy nose, i'd think of post-nasal drip eg allergies. Otc allergy medications can be used to determine if cough is due to allergy. Family physicians are trained to provide further evaluation.
