I have a broken bicuspid and i lost half of it. now there is pain and swelling. i am taking antibiotics and pain medications. can the tooth be saved with a root canal and cap?

Maybe: If the tooth is broken but not fractured yes. If the tooth is vertically fractured it cannot be saved however in that case an implant is possible or a fixed bridge. See your dentist asap.

See dentist ASAP: This is hard to say without a clinical and radiographic examination. See your dentist ASAP. The dentist needs to examine the area and see if the tooth is worth saving or may be more prudent to have an implant placed.
