Typhoid or Thyroid: Thyroid cartilage is part of the larynx and is a normal part of the body. There is no such thing as typhoid cartilage to my knowledge.

Typhoid is: A bacterial infection caused by salmonella; xiphoid cartilage is the tip of the breast bone (said zi - foid) and can cause a disturbing bump. Not cancer.
