Does shark cartilage help prevent cancer?

Cynical fraud: Simply made up as a money-maker. Sharks do so get cancer. I actually read the one publication, and the sole evidence that it "worked" was that tumors biopsied before and after the animals were treated looked different -- but this is the rule with cancer.

Very controversial: Shark fin (cartilage) is used medicinally in china to lower cholesterol & to combat cancer & heart disease but it's benefits are controversial as there is no scientic proof at this time. There is a health risk in ingesting shark fins. It is a predator fish with of high levels of bmaa (neurotoxin), arsenic & methylmercury.
