No proof currently: Shark fin (cartilaginous pectoral & dorsal fins) has been in use since at least the ming dynasty in china. It has been purported to possess many health benefits but there is a lack of scientific proof at this time. There is a health risk in ingesting shark fins. It is a predator fish with of high levels of bmaa (neurotoxin), arsenic & methylmercury.
