It depends: This can vary widely depending on what type of tear you have, whether it is repaired versus partially excised, and what type of work you need to return to. Simple partial excisions in someone with a sedentary job can mean return to work in 2-3 days. Higher demand jobs that require that you be on your feet a lot can take 2-4 weeks. Meniscus repairs might need to be protected for several months.
