Let it be: Your son is likely due for a regular checkup at 8 weeks & it is fine to wait & discuss it with your dr at that routine visit. I can't think of something worrisome that would show up that way so it is fine to let it be. If it is still there at visit time your dr can identify the cause.

This is not limited to the mouth and it can occur in other parts of the body. This is somewhat common in infants and is easily treated. You need to see your dentist or pediatrician for proper diagnosis and treatment.
