Yes: While initial evaluation and treatment of repetitive strain injury usually doesn't require any imaging, if it's been going on for 5-6 years and it's not improving, i would strongly consider getting imaging to make sure nothing is else is going on. Also, if you haven't been evaluated by either an orthopedist or a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, now might be a good time.
