The Net is right: Prostatitis is a difficult problem to treat. The prostate has a relatively poor blood supply and poor antibiotic penetration. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or Bactrim twice daily for a month is the treatment. Sometimes, this may need to be extended to another month of treatment because of continued prostate pain and infection. This one is a real hassle -- recovery is slow. Hang in there!
