Not exactly: Smoking doesn't effect the blood sugar level. But smoking with diabetes does increase the incidence of the vascular complications of diabetes. Meaning, it increases your risk of heart disease, vascular disease (poor circulation to the legs), stroke, kidney disease , eye complications and nerve damage. Stop smoking. It is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
