It's Controversial: Historically, the relationship between diet and acne has been highly controversial. Recent research has provided evidence that high glycemic load diets (eg, carbohydrates such as white bread, pasta, sugars) can worsen acne. Dairy ingestion (eg, milk, yogurt, cheese) is also weakly associated with acne, perhaps due to hormones in milk products.
